your in uk, you ought to get the buster lights, or get the usa reflector and globes like me.
zanotti's have the reflector for US$143, and two globes to match for US$26.44.
Shipping to Aust is US$55.80.
Total is US$225.24 or when converted to Oz $235 landed on my door.
Probanbly worth it to get two lights working instead of the stupididy of having two lights on bike but only one working.
How fu#king unsafe is this ridiculaous law of one light on at a time for gods sake? As if enough of us bikers arnt killed already by not being seen by nutjobcage racers floggingaround the streets talking on mobiles or smoking pot...!
The bulbs used in the U.S. models are H13 (not HIDs). I had to open mine up because I installed a hedlight modulator! The dual (both-on) headlights on this bike are great! Very bright and several friends have commented on how bright they are. During the day though, that means little so I decided to try a modulator. THese are legal in all 50 states. They make the bike MUCH MORE visible during the day!
Let me know how you get on. I've got a few other things like saddlebags that Iwant to buy first. I'll probably go down the same route. I've had a look at the Busters lights. My mate has a pair fitted to his Yamaha. They're OK. They look a bit cheap and cheerful but they do the job.
The problem is that the Fatbob lights now only produce half the ammount of light they were originally designed to throw out. I was riding home in the dark last week down some twisty narrow lanes. The lights were so poor that I couldn't see far enough ahead to do more than about 45 MPH. I had cars riding on my rear mudguard most of the way home. It was bloody hazardous.
I won't ride again in the dark until I get some decent lights fitted, it's too bloody dangerous. I like the look of the twin lights but I'd never sacrifice looks for safety.
There's no law that says you can only have one light on at a time so I can't understand why H-D haver decided to do this. Perhaps its just another cynical way of selling more accessories.
I attempted to order these parts (69800-08 and 69838-08 ) from Zanotti today, but they do not send HD parts to Europe(Norway) anymore. Is there anyone here in the forum who can help me with this?
