I have been drooling over some bobber frames the past couple of months and am really thinking about building one here shortly. I pretty much know exactly what style of frame I am looking for but my question lies with a motor. What motor would you guys say should be placed in a rigid bobber. I am fairly new to the HD world but have been around bikes most of my life(Jap Crap). I want something that will be reliable but I am not a fraid to turn the wrench when I have too. I would like to know what you guys think on this issue? Thanks
You looking for a HD motor exclusively? Check the J&P catalog. S&S engines have been very highly regarded for years...some would say even more so that HD motors.
Here is a picture of mine.
I am running a 107" S&S with a S&S Super G, Hooker tuned flow headers, automatic compression release - hooked up to a 6 speed tranny. Great motor.
