I'll break the trend....washed mine once right after I changed the oil this year....basically just a hose down with a little S100. That's it. I thought I'd be part of the wash all the time club, but I'm not.
Not very often, just when it looks really dirty. Just rode in the rain twice this week (heavy down pours) so I will have to do a good cleaning next week.
I wipe down the dirty parts to get the bugs off usually after each ride. I just use a little S100 on a microfiber towel to remove the bugs and shine her up. Then sometimes I'll follow that up with some wax. I don't do a full wash real often. When it gets good and dusty I'll wash and wax.
clean the Bob a lot,, BUT at the moment with the UK climate i am having a battle with corrosion on the motor fins,, S100 engine brightner is kind of working but keeping on top of it is a real pain in the ***..
I wash it down thoroughly with cold water after every single ride to wash the salt off. Hot water will help activate the salt corrosion. If my hose pipe is frozen I use a garden sprayer.
Once it's washed off I protect the bike with Scotoiler FS365 which is a water soluable corrosion protector made for bikes. You can spray it onto a wet bike and it evaporates to leave a fine protective film on even thehardest-to-reach places. Some of it will wash off in the rain but it leaves enough on to protect the bike. When you get home you just spray the bike with cold water which washes the salt and dirt off then reapply the FS365 and start again. It really does work. I also coat the chrome with WD 40.
In summer:
I wash it when it's dirty using car wash soap and give it a good wax now and then. I use pledge quite a lot to get rid of the dead flies. I wax the chrome and the bare aluminium. Before winter I give it a good wash down and spray everything with WD 40 except the paintwork.
