Default Wheel spacers

Hey guys, pretty sure that it doesnt matter but Im putting my front wheel back on and did not pay any attention to how the spacers came off and the book says to make sure they are installed correctly. Does it matter how the spacers go on? The both look the same to me?

If your book states a process you should follow it. As an engineer I have never gone to the trouble of insisting on a process of assembly out of whim. Good luck and be safe

Ok, just realized my caliper is screwed up giving me incorrect measurment. One spacer is longer than the other. I think the longer one goes on my brake side. Can ayone confirm this?

Hope this helps, I just went outside to take a look, on my Wideglide 2003, short spacer is on the brake side, long one on the other side.

Cheers,

Seems like it'll only go one way. The rotor has to fit in the caliper. The wheel should be in the middle of the folks. If the spacers are the same then theoretically they're interchangable. If not switch them until it's right and if you still need peice of mind next time you're at the Stealership ask them to take a look at it for you. Maybe that's an oversimplication (I'm not an engineer). You can always buy a service manual (a good investment anyway) as a double check. Maybe some of 06' owners will post a pic for you.

HarleypsychRN, I ended up with the long one on the brake side. Im sure your right I was probably overcomplecating it, just wanted to make sure. I have the manual but it didnt help alot in this case, or if it has the info I havent found it yet. Thanks for the help
