Default I am getting my Thundermax installed!

My streetbob is now at the tuner, getting a closed loop Thundermax installed. On friday I ride to the Belgium Ardennes (200 mls) for the Annual Benelux Rally. I can't wait to feel the difference.

I have a 2006, with high flow airfilter and SE slipons. The bike runs OK, but very hot and pops on decel. Hope this is gone by friday.

Any tips on how to ride to get the system calibrated quickly?

Exercise as many RPM/throttle positions as you can. Also, as it will only adjust a given percentage each engine-on cycle, you may want to take a few short runs to get some cycles.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Yup, by default it adjusts a maximum of 5% per engine start/stop sequence. So a few short rides at first to get things settled in, then just ride and smile!

By the time you have a couple/few hundred miles on it you should be pretty close to perfect.

You will love it. It really woke my bike up and I haven't heard a single pop on decel since it was installed. Mine seemed to have calibrated itself after 3 short rides. Have a great time at the rally.

I heard that you need to do some cutting to get the brains of the system to fit in the location the stock ECM. Can you confirm this and if so how much cutting is required?

A little trimming of the electrical caddy is required. It took me about 5 mins. with a roto zip. The only problem I had were the brass fittings that screw the ECM in to the caddy. I had one strip out, so I ended up drilling it and just using a nut and bolt.

Thanx for the info. You didn't happen to take an pictures of the area you had to cut? Took me awhile just to cut the wires to the original turnsignals on the handle bars when I moved them to the forks. I didn't want to go through the hassle to pull the wires out of the bars.

I didn't take any pictures, but they show a pic. in the manual of how much and where to cut. Don't let cutting the caddy keep you from the Tmax, it truely is easy to install.
