I am new to this forum so forgive me if this has been answered. I just bought a 1999 Wide Glide. I noticed the sticker on the lower front of the bike said 1340 ccm. The 1999 model has a 1450cc engine. The bike only has 4800 original miles on it. Initially it threw up a red flag to me but when i ran the VIN number, and saw clear title, everything checked out o.k.
I saw the paperwork where it was purchased new, then sold to an individual which i bought from so i feel pretty good that there is no foul play. Is this normal or can anyone shed some light on why the sticker would say 1340 and the engine is a 1450? Maybe the 1340 ccm isn't referring to the engine size?
The 1340 is an EVO engine (80ci), the 1450 is the twin cam (TC88). They look quite different, just look at a picture of each. And don't get distracted by the air cleaner, those are easy to change.
1999 was an EVO 80 ci or 1340 cc and used in some models in 2000. in 2000 the Twin Cam was introduced in touring models and is 88 ci or 1450 cc. the big bore kit for the evo was 88 ci or 1450. It's like putting a big bore kit on the Twinkie 88 and making it 95 ci or 1550 cc.

Incorrect. The TC88 motor debuted on 1999 model Dynas and Touring bikes. The Softails got the TC88b counterbalanced motor the following year. I had a 1999 FXDWG with the 95ci big bore kit.
I have the 1450 engine....I just thought it was odd that the sticker on the frame said 1340. I wouldn't think this would be a Harley mistake......again, maybe they aren't talking about the engine when they have 1340 on the sticker. I would be curious to seewhat anyone else with a 1999 up to a 2002 or so had on that sticker.
Don't have mine anymore, so can't help you there. The stickers on the frames (of all bikes) are definitely supposed to call out displacement, so it's unlikely 1340 refers to anything else.
Back when I was a kid and used to collect baseball cards, if you got an "error" card with wrong stats, reversed picture or what not, it was worth more! Maybe you got an "error" bike! J/K!! Sounds like they just made a mistake at the factory, what does the registration say? I thought in 99 you had the option of an evo or a tc?
