I traded my 2004 sportster 1200r for my fat bob and in stock form I would say it would be a tight race but I would give the edge to the sportsteragainst a 96 inch and definatly an advantage against an 88. with mods its a toss up , I think my 103 stage 2 would certainly keepit interesting .

Hmmmm..Very good question. On paper ,because of power to weight ratio the Sportster off the line at least. \\; Then once the "96" Dyna gets past second it's over for the lowly Sportster. Why?? Well from riding one myself for 14 years until I got My new Dyna this spring,once I start racing anyone MY *** is so sore that I always had to stop and walk around for awhile so the Dyna will always win...lmao.
