We used to index our plugs when we raced \\;so the grounding electrode was on the side of the combustion chamber which \\;gave the spark an unobstructed burn to the rest of the combustion chamber. These newer plugs with 2 or 4 grounding electrodes \\;would interfere with that.
Edited: Iridium are single ground electrode, sorry.

Google search iridium vs conventional spark plugs and you will get great info to make your own decision. Iridium does have advantages over conventional plugs. Would you notice them on a stock harley engine, and the answer is not likely.

Just use the HD plugs, you won't notice any difference with the irridium, except a lighter wallet.[:@]
