I feel your pain Greg. \\;My wife was complaining about the Sidekick Custom seat and I almost lost my bike to a Street Glide, but instead, I bought a stock Low Rider seat. \\;
 \\;
My buddy does the exact same thing in his 03 LR. \\; Same 2 seats even. \\; But I can tell when comparing my stock seat to a LR stock seat, it wouldn't do for my OL. \\; What screwed me was when my wife rode on the back of her brother's Heritage right after getting off of my stock seat. \\; Anyway, there is no doubt the Sundowner and Tallboy are ugly seats but they are very comfy. \\; I'm not looking for reassurance at all by the way. \\; I KNOW my 2-up setup is ugly and don't care what anyone else thinks - I hate it. \\;
Well I had the same problem, so I just divorced her, now no extra seat needed. HA HA Jsut kidding. I went with the Mustang seat route, solo with the pass. pillion that has only one screw to put in and if you use what others have said to use in a thumb type screw and detachable sissy bar, you would have solo to two up in less than a min.
Just a thought, this is what I have done.

I did the math though and to think how much cash I have tied up in a config that I rarely use and hate on top of that...
I did the math on my accessories once and then vowed, "Never Again!" \\;
Heh... I think I might start a thread on $ spent on customizing for the little lady. \\; Maybe it could serve as a therapeutic release of sorts. \\; [8D]

Man, I was thinking precisely that. \\; My girl hasn't been on another bike other than her pops' from back in the day, so I'm kind of glad she doesn't have a reference point. \\; Regardless, I'm still going to have mine modified to better suit us both. \\; \\; (Pre-emptive strike!) \\;
Im sorry but I dont like it, Dynas are for lone riders. IMO all 2 up seats looks horrible on dynas, so at least buy one that is confortable like the one you have. I Have a FXDC and my girlfriend started to ride with me 6 month ago, It make me buy a 2 up seat and saddlebags and now im thinking of buying a road king because the only way Dynas look cool are nude and a solo seat. With dynas less is more. Thats only an opinion anyway.

Read above - this is the config I have. \\; Quick detach sissy bar and also sprung the 15 bucks for the knurled thumbscrew from HD that allows me to change seats with just one screw and no tools. \\; It's a quick change but it doesn't look any better when that sofa is on my fender.

I bought my bike for me, against her loudly voiced wishes. \\; According to her, I was buying a suicide machine that she would never go near. \\; A few weeks later, I get my endorsement and she decides to ride with me. \\; She complains about the vibrations and discomfort but just figures that is the way it is. \\; Then, a couple weeks later, I'm riding with her brother and she's on the back with me. \\; Being a Sloptail rider, he proclaims his superiority and suggests she try riding the back of his. \\; Next thing I know I'm getting bitched at for not getting a bike "like that" that she could be comfortable on too. \\; Go figure! \\; I make a call to the dealer and they come through with the Sundowner seat option to make her happy. \\; She loved it, I hated it. \\; I traded it for a Tallboy but it's basically the same seat and look. \\; She's not bitching at me, about that, anymore but I still hate it! \\;
I didn't think my 2-up was bad - UNTIL I had the Lepera on there exclusively for over a month.
Then going back to the 2-up made me think - wow - I hate that look!
Maybe you are experiencing the same thing? 2-up looks even worse than before due to the influence of the bare bones?
At any rate - I'm sure you can tolerate it for that 5%!
