Default Buying Help

So I am getting ready to buy my first bike and I have been looking at the Dyna Custom, Street Bob and Fat Bob.
&nbsp\\;
I sat on a 105th anniversary wide glide and it was the most comfortable of any bike I have tried, problem is I want black not the special paint job and less chrome.
&nbsp\\;
Any suggestions on what is close to a wide glide without the 105 extras, also I did like the Fat Bob, I was surprised given the handle bars and the dealer said the lower bars will be easier on my arms, any comments on that, has anyone ridden a Fat Bob yet.
&nbsp\\;
I am first time buyer so any advice would be great.

Test ride 'em all before you decide only YOU know what feels comfy and what style you prefer. And most any of them can be mod'ed to fit your needs/desires. I prefer the mini apes and mid controls w/hiway bars, but everyone has their own preferences. I, too, liked the Wide Glide except for the rear fender, but preferred the denim black paint and blacked out engine of the St Bob, and the price differential made it a no brainer for me in the end. So the Street Bob picked me! Good luck!

I could be wrong but I don't think there is much of a chrome difference between the anniv. and standard wide glide.&nbsp\\; If you prefer less chrome, you can either have parts painted/powdercoated or buy a bike that has less chrome to start like the street bob, fat bob, or standard FXD.&nbsp\\; You really shouldn't buy the bike on chrome alone, though.&nbsp\\; All of the shiny stuff can be added or changed later.&nbsp\\; Go with what fits and feels and looks the best to you overall.

I agree with all posters. I would only add that you decide what kind of riding you will be doing. Will it be city,rural etc. Just make sure you sit flat footed and feel comfortable.

I'd suggest you run down to your nearest stealership and sit on them all.&nbsp\\; Have the guy helping you hold the front wheel (they often do this) that way you could sit in it in the proper riding position.&nbsp\\; This way, you can better tell what feels the best for you right out the door.&nbsp\\; Also stand over it to see if the seat is low enough that you would feel confident maneuvering it backwards and what have you.

Regardless, you could add all sorts of after market parts to better suit you!

Best wishes!
