&nbsp\\;Ok so I bought my Street Bob on May 16th at the same time I paid for a set of Black line Big Radius pipes from the dealer. They told me the pipes would be in by June 1st. That came and went . No pipes. Then it was June 13th. Again no pipes . Now its July 10th. When I asked what my options where they told me I had to wait for them to come in or buy the chrome ones and PAY to have them powder coated. Now I do some powder coating myself and I know that they would need to be ceramic coated. I dont have the equipment for that .Nor do I want to pay someone else to do it.I contacted Vance &amp\\; Hines , they told me the pipes wouldnt be avalible until the end of July. I hate being lied to . Thanks for listening.

 

I know the feeling. I bought my 08 WG and has to wait over two months for my billet wheels to be delivered. I wouldn't fault the dealer on this one, they are at the mercy of V&amp\\;H's production schedule.

There have been a number of threads about the black pipes&nbsp\\;taking longer&nbsp\\;to get. If that's what you want, wait for them. You won't be satisfied with anything else.

I see your point. It's not just the waiting, but being lied to by the dealer. If you can make a call to V&amp\\;H to find out end of July, the dealer did as well. They probably did back in May and chose to tell you June to not take a chance on losing the sale. Harley dealerships are, for the most part, just like walking into a used car dealership!

Tons of guys here waited for the Short Shots Black after the first run sold out.Several different dates given....no different than what your dealing with. I have the SideShots black and I love them. If you want the Big Radius Black just wait for them...youll be glad you did. This is of course unless you took off the OEM exhaust and arent riding as you wait for exhaust . Just enjoy the riding and theyll be here before you know it.

 

same issue with short shots at the start of the year,, some guys were waiting months,, i know it took me 6 weeks to get mine, i did think of going the chrome route and coating them but i am glad i waited..

 

ya sometime just sometime it is not the dealers fault he may be just repeating what he was told but if your pissed get your money back and order from someone else you might get a better price but I doubt any better delivery&nbsp\\;

 

Chances are the dealer stated June 1st as most things they order come in quickly - maybe they should have checked availability first before quoting you a date instead of basing their response on the "norm."&nbsp\\; Stuff happens...life is short...don't sweat the small stuff

 

about the black pipes, I asked a bud of mine the other day why so much more for the black pipes!? he told me it is because the ceramic coating&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;cools the exhaust and expedites the flow of the spent gasses - thus the speed of the the exhaust flow is better than&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;chrome. They are hugely popular right now and the chrome ones are getting much cheaper as a result....

 

I have a set of shortshot staggered that I had powdercoated and they are just fine. By the way, they are for sale, 2006 dyna version. anyone interested please let me know.
