How do I go about checking to see if I am running too rich? Too lean? Gasket leak?
My 2007 FXD (Stage 1 - V&H Pipes, Cobra Fi200R and SE Air Cleaner) seems to be getting under 40mpg highway (average speed 70mph). Or is this on par? You know if gas was last years price I wouldn't give a crap...

Sounds a bit poor on the MPG. You might want to run your finger in the exhaust pipes to see if you get a dark sludgy substance. Check the plugs for very dark colors. Usually too if you smell lots of gas after a run when the bike is parked is another good sign of richness.

My bike is running to lean now but I plan to change that soon. I can tell because the performance is starved for fuel like when I start off from a stop I have to give it lots of gas.
