Default solo seat

Hi all!!&nbsp\\; I'm changing out my two-up seat for a solo seat on my FXDC.&nbsp\\; I removed the two-up seat, under it was some foam stickky pads protecting the paint!!&nbsp\\; So, my question is, how the heck do you remove these sticky foam pads without damaging the paint???&nbsp\\; I need to remove them before I install the solo seat!!! Thanks

Be VERY careful when you pull them up.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; MAKE SURE that the whole pad is coming up.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Once removed use GooGone to get rid of the adhesive.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; The reason I say make sure the whole pad is coming up is that one of mine did not and it took me 2 days of work to get things back to normal.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; If you do a search on my posts you will find my thread as well as pics showing my dilemma.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Just make sure the whole pad is coming off when you remove them.

The best way is to use a heat gun on them to soften the adhesive.&nbsp\\; Run a taunt piece of fishing line under the rubber pad to cut through the adhesiive without damaging the finish.&nbsp\\; If you don't have a heat gun, you may be able to get away with using a hair dryer.&nbsp\\; If you don't have one of those, most my hair lies in&nbsp\\;the floor of the shower, so you can use my dryer.
