07 Dyna Possibility
My dealer told me that eventually they will put the VROD type engine in all models because the old
VTwins will not be able to meet the EPA specs ansd still run good.
According to him they are already experimenting on it with varoius models.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. Might not be the Vrod but the days of the air cooled MC engine are numbered. I think they will make a water cooled TC88 style engine so not to change the style of all the bikes that have them. It will have to be larger to accomodate water jackets but will probably look the same on the outside with a small radiator up front. Wont make the EG and RK style bikes look much different but the Dyna looks will suffer. So, hang onto your current bike.....it may just be worth more than you payed for it someday.
The Revolution engine is a big step forward in technology and seems to be the wave of the future. They even sound great with aftermarket pipes but for all its strong points, it just ain't the same. Just doesn't sound like a Harley. In the five years it took me to finally buy a Harley, I thought long and hard about the V-Rod. The reason being that I was afraid the TC88 wouldn't be enough to satisfy me. Once I was finally able to start riding and experience a few different bikes, my opinion changed drastically. I know for a fact that I would've been disappointed with a V-Rod. They are awesome bikes and are probably a blast to ride but it just would've been the wrong bike for me. I'm 150% tickled slap-*** to death with my Street Bob! They start putting a Revolution motor in the other product lines and I'll start buying used bikes.
My buddy has a Vrod with Rinehart straight pipes on it and it does sound like a Harley. I was very surprised the first time I heard it. Almost as loud as a TC88 with SEII slip ons. I could own one with that setup.
I have not heard that, but if its true, I am glad I bought my 06 when I did. Why on earth would you need a counter balancer on a rubber mounted motor? Doesnt make any sense to me.
The Revolution motor is rubber mounted in Harley's first steel perimeter frame.
You sir, are correct. I assumed since the engine can safley rev to 9000 RPMs that it was not.......I was ....WRONG....
Still, I dont see them putting the B motor in the Dyna. Eventually going to a revelution type motor across the board to keep up with the EPA regs...that I see comming...sooner than later.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
The point is, If the V-Rod motor is not the future of HD (I hope it's not), they are certainly getting help from outside the company. Willie G. will lay down the parameters i.e displacement, OHC/Pushrod, Air/Water cooled etc. I can't see him putting his stamp of approval on a water cooled twin with bolt on cooling fins and overhead cam's. 'Ain't gonna happen. Hell, the MOCO would not even consider adding an oil cooler to the TC88 motors when it could have saved the MOCO millions of dollars revising the head cooling and oil flow issue on the Twin Cam prototypes. If there is money to be spent on development (and there is PLENTY), the MOCO will find an innovative way to produce the air cooled, 45 degree v-twin AND meet the future EPA's guidelines for noise and pollution. I just can't see them doing otherwise.
