Just a quick note, If you have taken your controls off the handlebars and put them back on yourself, you may have broke the actuating tab on the front brake lever.

+1 A buddy last week went through this, running light works nothing when hitting brakes. Took a peek under fender and sure enough frayed wires rubbing on tire.
