Default checking intake gaskets

I was wondering how to check the intake gaskets on my 98 superglide. I want to stay away fromanthing that willl hurt my grey motor Thanks

Have'nt tried it, but have read on here a unlit propane torch will work.

If you have a leak, your idle will speed up a bit. Try going in from the left side of the motor. You dont want the propane just entering thru the air cleaner giving you a false result.

Just a trickle of propane . You dont want or need it blasting out of the UNLIT torch.

spray a little carb cleaner around the intake and if there is a leak the engine will rev up.

I am going to try carb cleaner being that I have some. Do you know where the best way to get that red extender so it doesnot go all over

I can just about guarantee that any '98 HD would need the seals replaced by now, especially if they never have before.

I would use starting fluid. Listen for idle changes as you go around. Even could drop. Starting fluid evaporates fast enough so it wont leave anything behind
