Fork Lock Pin Alignment (ignition switch)
Since day 1, my Dyna fork lock hasnt been aligned properly. \\; Occasionally the small pin which extends down and locks the fork when the key is turned to the lock position and aligns with the groove, but not usually. \\; I have loosened the ignition switch (shop manual p 8-14) and tried re-aligning the ignition cylinder but to no avail. \\; Has anyoune else experienced this? \\; The dealer is really dumbfounded by the misalignment and really seems to be a factory design issue, no simple alignment procedure.

i just had to take a flat head screw driver wraped in tape to protect everything.turn your key to reveal the locking pin and pry it so it realigns with the groove in your fork.

you will notice that when you do the whole ignition cylinder rotates with it.but since ive done it the first time i havent had it happen again.good luck and let me know if you need anymore info

I have to agree with davidray... I had terrible problems in the beginning, until one day I lied down on the ground underneath it and fiddled with the handlebar and key until it fit. Fits like a glove now...
