Default thinking about winter mods????

one of my mods but not all is taking my inner and outer primary covers and having them chromed.lucky enough to have one of the best chromers in the country right around the corner but still that doesnt help get the parts chromed any faster.they are 8 weeks out.so my ? is do i need to do anything special to my clutch assembly, compensating sprocket, and chain while the parts are out.im thinking a clean dust free area. but do you guys think i need to keep them soaked in oil so the clutch plates and parts dont dry out?

If you parked it for the winter your clutch plates would'nt be soaked in oil, so I'll say.......... no.

If it were me, I would buy the chrome pieces and just replace them, no wait time that way. Then sell the old parts on ebay. 8 weeks is too long for me.

hey marksman, the reason im doing it this way is because i can have both inner and outer covers triple chrome plated to show quality for what i can buy one cover for from harley. if you think about it why buy the part and the chrome, just buy the chrome.i am willing to go 8 weeks in the winter when im not riding that much to save 300 bucks.jrk5892 serann wrap good idea thats what ill use.

davidray, I hear ya. Winter here is a bitch. I try to get out a time or two every month in the winter but a little downtime is ok to save the bucks.
Not trying to be nosy, but you didn't answer my question. I have no idea what chroming cost.
