Ok this a good thread for me and instead of starting a new thread I'm gong to take it a step further.....after I ask some questions about Lyndall pads.

Looking at their website I see they have the Z Plus, Gold Plus and the Red Plus. The Gold Plus is supposed to be for "extreme stopping power" and the Z Plus for "general purpose riding". Where does the Red Plus fall in? Has anyone had any experiences with the Red? How do they all compare?

My other question is. If I wanted to upgrade my brakes and go with the best brake modification possible, what would you suggest? What could I expect in cost and would it be worth the difference of just changing to LynDall pads?

Thanks.

Whenever I spoke to a lyndall rep(the only one in canada!) he discouraged me from getting just pads and told me it wouldn't really improve anything until i went with his lyndall floating rotors.I think they were about 500$ apeice, and the fatbob needs three so i politely clicked off-and here you guys are just going to the pads and it's all ok! Wow guess that guy was trying to sucker me in huh?(rhetorical) Of course it is his job to sell as much as possible but he could have told me the truth!

rotors will make a more significant difference. They are super expensive though. I would recommend the gold pads with stock rotors. I have the z-plus and they work better than stock(golds should be even better). Great part is the lack of brake dust. To me the lack of brake dust is the most significant part of having these pads. Nothing like just cleaning everything with some water and no elbow grease. Believe me these will not suddenly turn the H-D brakes into precision stopping instruments. They will improve performance a bit and make cleaning 1000% easier

Almost 11000 miles on my bike now stock dual front pads almost ne wear yet! had to change out the rear last year i had picked up the habit of braking mostly with rear brakes so i could play with the throttle while slowing down-BAD IDEA! Any how now my rear rotor is a little left to right so It may be time to address that situation and belee me cleaning the rear aluminum wheel was a pita!

lyndalls are on the list for my bike, if anything just because I'm sick of cleaning brake dust off of spokes

I've actually gotten 25K out of the original stock pads on my 05 Dyna, but the fronts are ready for replacements. Rears look to have about 50% left. I'll try the Lyndall's on the front and see how they do for myself. Wish I could just get them at the shop down the street, though, rather than having to order them.

Just got my F/R sets from Eastern Performance. Right at $85 (no shipping) and had them in 3 days. They have 2 cuts in them so I assume they are the latest models of the Z+.

installed my gold plus a week ago, and didn't notice a huge difference, there was more pad then the stock ones and the back ones seem to hold more then the stock ones, and with the gold I don't have the drone I had with the stock ones anymore. But it was the peace of mind I have with them and the BEST feature: little to no dust, that was enough for me to get them. That and I am getting new rims and floating rotors so these will be better for that upgrade too.
