Where'd you get the 111?
Are you saying that now that you've run 111, you can go back to pump gas with no ping?
What grade of fuel were you running b4 the 111?
Only problem I can see is if the gas is leaded it can foul up your O2 sensor. I'm not sure about the lead thing though, it's been 12 years since the last time I bought race gas so it may be a non-issue.
you will be fine! amazing how it runs on race fuel huh?! we can get it at the BP stations out here all over! got buddys that only run that in their rockets!
I am pretty sure I will have to go with some decent % off 111 octane in the futre (maybe 60-40% at least). I was all ready to put the platinum VRod plugs in to see if they would work but then I said screw it and went down to Chief Petrol here is Colo Spgs. and put 3 gals in....you should have seen my reaction when I cracked the throttle and all I heard was engine and exhaust! I was going nuts like I had won the lottery. I can only imagine what I looked like to other people "YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!" FURIOUSLY NDDING MY HEAD "THAT'S WHAT i'M !@#$%^&* TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!"
"Just another crazy biker?". LOL. Wish I had a vid of that!!!

Thanks Joe hey I am originally from Park Ridge still love Chicago I guess that happens if you don't live there or live in a good part (like maybe an LSD penthouse LOL) and like your job that's what I've been told but I love coming back there and going to a Cubs or Black Hawks game and trolling around the dives in Lincoln Park good times where you at?
You did not solve the problem, you only put a restrictive band aid on it. I too put a band aid on to alleviate the ping by using the Xieds and the ping has now returned. I suspect the PCM adaptive fuel trim compensated for the change, not sure. I am going to take them off and take it to the stealer and tell them I want it fixed! I am not going to regulate myself to trying to find high test fuel, pay more and be limited to riding to areas where I can find it, which is far and few between. In CA. we only have 91 on tap and it should be good enough to satisfy the fuel management of the bike.
The only thing that we have done is prove that H-D has a serious problem with their fuel management system with the 07' up FI! I am taking the Xieds off and taking it in and demanding it be fixed to eliminate the ping, period! I am sure H-D does not give a crap as long as it lasts through the warranty period. My warranty runs out in Nov. If I can not get this fixed then I'm going to sell it, I do not want to but why should I put up with an annoying ping knowing the engine is going to grenade at any time. I should not have to pay extra to "tune" or "dyno" a f**king stock bike!
