Default Fuel Question

When I bought my 07 FXD everyone told me to not run any gasoline with ethanol in it, well today I was at the gas station and there was a sign on the pump saying that as of 12-25-15, 93 octane gasoline will have 10% ethanol and that no companies will offer any Non-Ethanol gasoline anymore. Going forward is this going to cause issues?

Hasn't caused my '00 RG any issues in 16 years. (I don't think I've ever run non ethanol fuel.)

Now if it got to be over 10% ethanol, I wouldn't feel so confidant.

The sign is a lie. Perhaps it's just that station or brand.
We have non-oxy high octane fuel all over this state.
It seems to be a non-issue,, this could turn into another long topic about oxygenated fuels,, folks will argue both sides without conclusion.
Ad nauseam,,

I'm surprised, it's usually hard to find non-ethanol gas anymore.

the problem with ethanol gas it that it breaks down & absorbs water in just a couple weeks so it can rust out your fuel pump after a few years. I don't worry about it because in the summer I fill up about every 3 days so I always have fresh gas, I do the same with my car except reverse the seasons.

but if you're gas is going to be in your tank for more than 2 weeks add some fuel stabilizer. They make several ones for ethanol gas now.

several articles about the problems with ethanol on the internet.

run what you have to grade-wise per your MoM. pour in seafoam or startron every now and then.

This site will help you find non-ethanol gas possibly in your area. http://pure-gas.org/
or try http://buyrealgas.com/
Argument of one vs the other and effect on engine? I have a little push gas mower that has run both regular grade 10% ethanol and left over regular grade non ethanol gas used for the boat motors.
Mower will easily start and runs smooth with more steady power than non ethanol gas every time...No surges or having to remove air filter to prime motor.

10% gas sucks.

Your fine

As previous posted said, just don't let the gas sit in your tank for too long.

Everyone that told you that sure doesn't know what they're talking about. Any fuel blend with 10% ethanol or less will be fine to use. Stay away from anything advertised as E-15 if you happen to run across that.
