Is it past the initial break-in? What Stage are you at or mods have you done to the motor/air/fuel? Coming from a sport bike, you're sure to experience WAY more vibes. Not sure how much you're talking about here though...
i have 3500 miles on it . stock bike..its starts at 28 mph in first gear...so i am shifting
in second gear..if i shift higher than 28 , the vibration is more.... i am just trying to
know if it is normal or not ...that all...i was told after the first service, i could shift the bike
at a higher rpm... i am not always shifting this high....i usally shift every 17 mph or so...
thanks for your time guys
keep the shiny side up........
My next buy is a tach, I don't have a clue how many RPM'S I'm running. I shift about every 15 MPH'S. Nowhere near as smooth as my Ninja but just as much fun.
I shift My FatBob 32 33 into 2nd and sometines , well max is 66 mph into third ,but it doesn't vibrate. If anything it gets smoother. Come to think of it the handlebars do vibrate at that rpm. I try not to shift that high anyway because it is un-necessary wear and stress on the engine. These hogs are designed for low end torque. If you ride it like that too much you are prolly asking for trouble. That's what I think!
I have The same vibration at 50 mph on my Street Bob when I shift from 2nd into 3rd. It did not used to do this. I have replaced the front motor mount. I have had the map tweaked. Can't find anything loose or rubbing in the wrong place. Everything is good except 50 mph. I'm thinking of replacing the stock tires with Metzlers next but I don't want to just throw more money at it. This is driving me nuts.
I seem to have a change in the vibration at about 30mph while in first gear. I usually shift to second just about the time the vibration hits. I'm good to about 62mph in second gear before the rev limiter. I have a PCIII installed so the redline is now 6200rpm. It's hard to compare vibration levels between bikes without a frame of reference, mine is the 2nd Fat Bob I've ridden and but don't really remember any of the subtle details about the first one since it was a rental.

think i finally figured this vibration out. When i installed my Bassani 2:1 Road Rage I did not follow the tightening sequence outline or torque specs in the service manual.
I loosened all flange nuts. Tighten everything according to the service manual and the vibration issue seems to have disappeared.
Now if I can just keep the flange nuts from loosening up.
PS...Be advised Torque specs for these nuts are Inch/lbs NOT Foot/lbs.
Frankly, I can not believe how smooth this Fat Bob is. Yeah, it sits there a shakes at idle, but once I put some power to it, the bike smooths right out! I love this bike!!
