Bikers and Mobsters
I don't give 2 sh#ts if you like my tennis shoes or not!! Who cares??!!! As for trendy...hell, it ain't a trend....HD jeans, HD boots, HD golf clubs, HD underoos...that's a damn trend!!!!!!
The point was that the media plays MC's out to be drug dealing thugs or dirty, unemployed morons!! TIMES HAVE CHANGED whether you like it or not!! There are bad apples in every organization...whether it's an MC or a church choir. Not all MC members are drug dealers.
The main reason I responded the way I did to the post was because there are a lot of NEW people on this forum that are NEW to the world of motorcycling. Some may watch these documentaries and believe that every club member is a piece of crap....because of the way the media and government portrays them. I REMEMBER the days when the police would harrass you simply because you rode a HD.....I don't want those days back, do you?
Mud, sorry for making the thread going haywire....
AND YEAH.....VANS..skateboarding shoes!! Dickies..cheap and tough work clothes..Can you say comfortable???LOL!!!
D
Yes, times have changed, that's for sure, but that's the way life is.
Personally, I like the canvas Dickies painter pants - you know, the orangish colored ones like the guy from "Dirty Jobs" wears? Now if they, and my Justins, only qualified as "business casual"...
saint, how old are you??
I remember when we tanked the sickles up with 100 octane,
paid with a dollar bill,
and got change back.

The documentaries are a glimpse from the media's point of view. I enjoy watching them as much as everyone else does, but I don't believe everything they say.
Anyways, thanks Mud for letting us know it was on....much appreciated.
D
So, +1 for what you say about not believing everything they show.
Anyway, I wonder if the "biker culture", or the MOCO, would have had the same success without the "bad boy" image associated with bikers, and how much the biker community has thrived exploiting that cliche', save wailing about persecution when someone actually believes it's true.
I believe much of the "biker image" today has gone beyond mere history and has become myth, much like the pirates... I understand it's a development that may seriously **** off many old timers that have "rode the way", so to say, and were there when it all begun, but the world goes on. As you said, no more "spike and chains"...
Anyway, dumb generalization is a reality of every and any community, I see it here in Italy.
An albanian immigrant mugs somebody? All albanians are muggers. Ten years after, a romenian immigrant mugs somebody and all romenians are muggers (and if you ask about Albanians, easily you'll get a "Who are albanians?" look).
People are that stupid. :|

Make sure you watch it with your vans on.
