1971 FX super glide!!! wow! this is a buddy of mines 71 Superglide... his dad bought it brand in 71 and has had it since... this bike has gone though many diff faces (changes) it did have 4 over tubes and 21 front... Kevin kicked it back and dropped the fork sizes again, and tossed on the chrome drum brake front wheel...looks awesome! this motor is bored and stroked, just awesome! sweet bike! he and his old man have turned all their own wrenches on this bike and i have to tell you... I LOVE THIS THING! you shoudl see the chicks when he kick starts this baby at the bar! had to share it!
it is the big brother to our bikes... runs tops! kicks over on the 1st kick... just an awesome bike... has a vacume slide carb on it... aftermarket i guess was big in the 70's he loves it... check out that front wheel it is awesome!
actually it is the 1st year for the dyna... if you look it has the exposed shocks, rubber mounted motor (now solid on it) and shifter side drive train... why would you say that the first GLIDE is not a DYNA? what would you say it is?... OOH YA! and it is an FX!!!!
dont tell me that the horse shoe oil box threw you off!
- granted the first "dyna" was introduced in 91 with the FXDB sturgis (bad *** bike by the way) however the FX has just the same features just the name "dyna" did not come out till the 90's they where called FX's
The Dyna was a replacement frame for the FXR. It has 2 rubber mounts instead of the previous 3. That thing IS a superglide, but it is absolutely NOT a Dyna. Tell an FXR owner you like his Dyna sometime... just make sure you've got a head start.
