I posted this thread in the screamin eagle section of the forum, but got no answers, so i'll try here. I want to install the whole dash, speedo, tach setup of the 08 FXDSE2 on my 07 street bob. I know i can install the dash and an ignition switch (not the FXDSE2 ignition) on my bike with no problems, but i need to find out if the speedo and tach will work on my bike. I tried to find out at the local stealer but i got a bunch of blank stares and not alot of answers. So does anyone know if i can use them on my bike? How can i find out if they will. I have the service manual for my bike, but i need to know what to match up with what. The part#'s are 67058-04C for the speedo and 67541-08 for the tach.
I think the only way to know for sure is to get your hands on the wiring diagram for the FXDSE2, which is probably no small feat.
My guess is that the speedo is good - since it has an -04 designation (meaning is has applications back to 2004).
Seems the tach is going to need some wiring that you probably don't have in your harness - but jrk5892 added a LR dash and harley tach to his Bob - he's really helpful and I'm sure he could tell you what's involved with the wiring - can't be more than a few wires?
I was going to get the FXDSE2 dash as well for mine just cause it has the factory space for the ignition switch.
Do you have the part number for the dash?
The tach will work on your Street Bob. I have an 06 S.B.with a tach mounted the same way the S.E. tach is. There have been a couple of threads about hooking up a tach on a Dyna here lately. Seem to remember a rider who got the tach signal from the speedo plug. The S.E. instruments look GOOD but are pricey. Good luck...
On the 06 SB you'll find the tach signal in the blank number three hole in the ECM plug-in.

i think the pin 3 ecm signal will work with most aftermarket tachs, but not late model HD tachs.
the 2005 wiring shows fxdx and fxdl tachs with 3 wires: accessory, ignition, and data bus.
all 3 can be jumped right off the speedo harness, 2006 should not be different - except there was no FXDX
Dyna rider do you have the 4" spun alum. tach on your bike? If so do you have any pics of how it looks? I just found online that the 4" spun alum tach part# 67522-04B will work on 04 - 08 Dyna's.
Now i just need to find out about the speedo. There is a 4" combination speedo/tach available that lists its for 07 - 08 dyna's with 4" speedo's. So i would assume that the one i want would work seeing how the FXDSE2 is a 08 Dyna with a 4" speedo. But i need to find out for sure. Its expensive and I'd hate to buy it and fnd out it won't work.
Thanks for everyone's help.

On my 06 Street Bob, the only place I could get the tach sig was at the ecm, maybe cause a tach is not offered for this model. I used a Harley 2 5/8 mini tach intended for an FXD 35.
