Default Mapping

I went to the dealership asking about slipons for my 08 lowrider and they told me that when installing all slipons you need to have it mapped.. Is this correct or are they trying to milk a couple xtra $ from me? I'm not buying from the dealership anyway, but I wanted to know from everybody else what they did after their install. I think I will be going with Rinehart slipons just wanted to make sure I "don't" need to have it mapped after I install them.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Okie

It's BS - milkjob. Unless you are upgrading the air cleaner, you shouldn't need the map.

NOT correct, as usual from the stealer. Those dopes at the parts counter don't know ****!!! If you are only putting on slip-ons, you do not need a new map. All the slip-ons will do is assist in exhaust gases to leave the jugs. If a new AC is put on, you will be bringing in more air, which means it will be running leaner. You don't want the motor to run any more lean, popping will occur and bluing of the pipes. You will also burn out the plugs and cylinders.

Good luck...
