Brought the FXDC in yesterday for the 1000 miler. Not a speck on it. Picked it up and rode a few miles into town. Smell Smoke! I check it out and oils burning off the exhaust and side of tranny. Just spillage but it pisses me off that a reputable dealer (Woodstock Harley) would make such a freek'n mess. Maybe its just me but after laying down $230 for a glorified oil change I expect the oil to be "inside" the f'n motor.
Sorry, had to blow a gasket somewhere and I picked you. My divorse was finalized this week too so my heat index is way over the caution mark.
Not worth a pissing match with them. Its just the point. If I did it myself I guarentee it would have been spotless. Just tired of paying people good money to do half *** work. Had the oil change done in my new ford 150. The dipstick put 10 quarts of oil in it. 3 days in the dealer to rip the top of the motor apart. They started it and the fire dept came thinking the building was on fire.

Its getting old!!!!
Best to tell the service manager, he may not know he has a problem until someone tells him. Could be a new tech that needs to be schooled or an old tech that needs replacing, either way if you don't say anything there's no way to fix the problem.
I run into this at work often. I'ts my fault if I dont say anything to the guys who are doing a bad job....... my .02
I agree with the others, let them know about it. Most dealers do welcome constructive criticism.
Just point it out to them, like you said not to get into a pissing match over though.
On the other hand, I had just the opposite experience at the dealer I bought mine from. Back in May, I took the Sportster in for the 1k service.
I had about a 60 mile ride to get there, and about half way there, it started pouring rain. So, by the time I pull in the bike was filthy, not to mention me being soaked!
Service manager took my jacket, gloves, and helmet and set them in his office with a fan to dry out. I looked around the showroom and waited for the bike to be finished, not really looking forward to the ride home in the rain. But it stopped raining and the sun came out. When they told me the bike was ready, I walked back to find the bike absolutely spotless, and my jacket and gloves completely dry.
Taking the new Fat Bob in today for its 1k service.
Oh, the dealer is Ozark Harley Davidson in Lebanon, Mo.
lebanon missouri brings back good memories i stopped their once years ago en route
to cali. they had some of the best pork chops at restaraunt at a motel it wa sclosed the following year
guess you shoulda done it yourself. and then you wouldn't have a reason to be pissed.. and if you were, you could spend the cash you saved on some beer..and then everything would be better.
