Need New, an Different Tire brand

My stock 160/70B17 Dunlop rear tire never impressed me from the start. Unless Iam driving Miss Daisy, Theres slipage. What tire, and why would you recomend it? My 07 SG needs new shoes! 6000 mi. Thanks

I'm running Avon Venom X and prior I had Roadrunners. I ran the Dragon with the Roadrunners on my FXRP and they handled super. Comfortable ride from WI to Colorado and again from WI to Tennessee then on to South Carolina. We got stuck in the rain (once a down pour) on the way to SC and the bike never floated or slid.

I'll swear by the Avons and never have another Dunlop on anything I own. Although I hear Metzler makes a top quality tire.

I recently put on a new set of Metzler 880 Marathon and I am impressed. No Slips, super grip. I would recommend and will continue to use this tire for a long time.

i use avon storm rear tire and the avon venom front tire. i love them, very sticky tire. i never really liked the dunlops on both of my bikes. jackyl

Went to Metzler ME880 from stock. I'll never go back. While I have heard nothing but good things about the Avon, I like the Metz enough it doesn't matter, I'll stick with Metz forever.

People either love or hate Dunlops I didn't have a problem with the stock GT501s that came on it but the Screaming Eagle GT 502s with the 180 rear I have now feel pretty good to me.
