This could be a really stupid idea but has anyone ever put any driving lights for cars/trucks such as the ones you can buy at Wally World on their scoot? I have thought about it but I don't want something that will look like crap. I don't need them bad enough to spend $300 putting extra Harley lights on, just an idea I was tossing around....
I thought about ordering the front turn signal relocation kit and using that to mount some driving lamps to. Don't know how well that would turn out. I don't have a highway bar to mount them to.
I'm going to add a small pair somewhere. I want them more to make me more visible, rather than for extra light. Somewhere, I saw a bike with small round driving lights mounted at the bottom of the fork - maybe even on the axle. I've been thinking about it and I'm not quite sure how you'd do that... but I might try something like that.
I also just installed the HD kit to move the turn signals onto my fork. I'm considering hanging a small pair of driving lights off the bottom of the stalks.
As for the type or brand - as long as their 12v, it shouldn't be an issue.
I bought a set of chrome automotive driving lights from a local store ($30 at princess auto) and a pair of fork clamps on ebay ($30) for my sportster. I put a switch between the battery and the electrical cover. Easy to reach but out of sight. They were great on the highway at night. I'll have to go to the neighbors house to take pictures since I sold it to him. Now I'm just waiting for my fatbob.
Have some fork mounted brackets just made & out of chromers maybe Tuesday? I bought 3" & 4 1/2" with 1" & 2" billet LED's (turns). Going on my FXR & also Bagger. Working out all lighting details than taking them to Golf course @ night for range for photos. There are new ballasts that are 2 in 1 box. Trying H-3 35 watt (X 2) HID's and also 5 watt each new LED's w/Modulator. I do not know the outcome as there is new 4 1/2" headlight lens's to focus the light. If you use a spotlight lens the beam would scatter & blind oncoming traffic (IMO). I do not know for sure as I need to physically test them. This type will fairly inexpensive as no expensive moving Hi/Lo is needed. This is under development & both lighting should be finished by next week I hope. I think the 3" passing & 1" turn signal fork mounted is good for the Dyna.

Yes, I have done it with very good results. See my sig, though....
