Default Engine guard mounted fog lights

A question for those of you that have the engine guard mounted fog lights....Are you satisfied with the amount of light that they throw out there? I want them more so, to be seen, especially during daylight! Not sure if any extra lighting would be helpful for people not paying attention......I figure it can't hurt though!!

If they don't see that big round light up near the handle bars, they probably won't see the fogs. Fog lights spread the light out, making a low, wide, beam. Not always that bright. Especially in the daylight. They'd be great for use at night when traveling thru critter country. They'll light up the eyes of the critters before they jump out in front of you.

If you want something to get their attention during the daylight hours, mount air craft landing lights on them. And hope your generator keeps the battery charged.

You can see more road in the curves. And more is better.

People don't notice headlights during the day.
I can drive with my brights on and no one notices, it all just blends into the sun. They see color and movement and hear sound. or large changes in light, basically on/off or colored light.

for instance if I want go get noticed I'll flash my brights, throw the blinkers on, and avoid the guy thats not paying attention anyways.

Bright colors movement, and sound. thats what gets you noticed during the day.

Loud pipes save lives.

It's hard to prove that it makes a difference, but I believe that triangle of three bright white lights gets more attention during the day than a single headlight.

The lights are a big win at night as well (I love to ride at night.) It does seem to confuse some people into thinking I have high beams on, but when they flash their lights at me, I just flash mine back and then everyone's on the same page.

If you have someone else install them, make sure they wire 'em up so they have their own switch and stay on when the high beams go on. Then just leave 'em on all the time. Technically, it's correct to wire a fog light so it goes off when the high beams come on, but I think it's counter-productive to do that on a motocycle.

Actually, it's already been proven. The railroads did studies and found out years ago that you're right...a triangle of lights with a higher, larger light in the middle was more visible in daylight (which is why RR engines have that very setup). I've personally noticed that bikes coming toward me stand out more with the triangle. I keep saying that I'm gonna mount some small inconspicuous lights down low to be more visible, but I haven't done it yet. For that matter, that and all other mods both recently and for the forseeable future are on hold pending the recovery of the construction business.

If I go this route, that's what my plan was, to wire it up independent of the head light. To me it only makes sense. The one from HD (68912-98B), that I was thinking of buying, comes with it's own switch.

Default Lights

I,think that with a single light the the light can get blend in with a car Headlight, with a triangle spaced out the lights are more obvious, same thing with a rear light, imho.
