Ok people it time for me to search for pipes to put on my new streetbob. Do I go with Vanse & Hines? Bassani? Pythons? Samson? I know its a personel preference, but I'm curious as to what the forum members think. They don't have to be the loudest, just best sounding.
I can only speak for the Vance and Hines, Pythons, and Samsons. The Samsons are noticibly louder side by side, but all three have that nice Harley rumble. The Bassani's sure look nice, but I haven't heard them. I went with the Pythons (the same pipes as the vance and hines, as I'm sure you're aware). They are not overly loud, but are considerably louder than stock, although that's not saying much. They're a nice middle ground between the quiet stock and obnoxious Samsons for me.
I have Vance & Hines Big Shots Staggered on my 05. I think they look great and you can put a quiet baffel in them if you want. Otherwise the baffel that comes with them is quiet louder than stock. Sound great too. Check out www.vanceandhines.com and look at the Big Shots Staggered 06's.
Python 3's on my WG I love em, friend has an 03 WG with Vance Hines and his idle is a little louder but on the throttle I think the pythons are a bit louder.
Funny you should ask that. I was just looking at that today. I don't remember seeing that when I bought mine last April. I think it is fairly new. When I put mine on I got the stage I down load from my dealer which was about $100. I am thinking about getting the fuelpak though. I put saddle bags on and with the quiet baffles I have now I think it will be too quiet for me. I might put the original baffles back in and get the fuelpak because according to Vance & Hines web site the fuel should be set different for the original baffles.
