I would hold off on the xIEDs until you had a better sense of what direction you want to take. If you're going for a full switch-out, then you'll need to invest in fuel management. With slip-ons, i'd suggest putting them on first and seeing what happens. If you regularly ride in stop-and-go, then xIEDs will help a bit with the heat.
