Hey, I didn't even want the sissy bar.....she made me get it.
I think they look like garbage.
I fought and fought and fought and lost the battle.
What are ya' goin to do....
So I told the stealer to put the mini-detachable backrest on for her....
They called me and said that it wouldn't look right w/ the stock seat.....
That the pic in the '06 catalog of the MOCO's custom wide-glide had the badlander seat.
Are the stealer's just trying to suck more money from me?
Where does it look clunky???
You must mean whereever it mounts....(I'm still not sure where or how?)
The upright itself must be the same whether it's rigid mounted or detachable...
I agree the mini looks great.

I've been googling and can't find a pic, but it's the leave behind docking hardware, and the extra little clamp on the sideplate. It just doesn't look as clean.
I have the rigid mount medium low with smooth backrest on my 06 wide glide. Stock seat is still in place. For me, it just wasn't a "wide glide" without the sissy bar.
Haven't yet purchased the touring seat, but that will be my alternate seat for longer two up riding. Every once in a while you have to take one for the team! Glad your wife likes the bike, at least!
The dealer said it wouldn't look right?!? Who the f**k are they...it's your bike dude!
I think the wideglides don't look right WITHOUT a sissy bar. I have a medium low with a pillow look pad...have the pillow look seat to go with it. Looks good and is comfortable. I agree that the detachable is a little less attractive than rigid (I have detachable)...but it's certainly easier to remove...if that's your thing
I just put on a medium 2 days ago. Dealer sold me the wrong side panels; the '06 Wide Glide takes unique ones, but it's good because they just slip inside the side chrome. I had waited 10 days for the parts. They wanted me to wait another 10 days. Went to another dealer. I like a bag on the back to carry my stuff, and for a passenger. I also still need an ft lb wrench after buying an inch lb wrench. Sorry no pic yet.
