How did you paint the engine? A friend of mine has a silver engine and hates it...we have been going round and round about the best way to do it.
pull starter,exhaust, and inner/outer primary.. mask and spray...little trick I figured out on the fins...go ahead and paint em within 10-20 min the paint will be dry to touch and you actually can wipe the fins down with some brake cleaner and a rag and the paint will come right off like you never painted it...
obvoiusly use a finger to run along the edge of the fin...
I did it in sections as opposed to masking everything individually... if you get any paint on the pushrod covers(or any chrome) it will come right off with wd-40 or brake cleaner.
I used high heat 1200 paint... I think I would rather my engine was done in texture or wrinkle but It really is not noticable unless your on top of the engine inspecting things...
