Default what progressives are best?

I have a Dyna 2005 FXDLI Low Rider. Am a short guy, want to lower the bike to flat foot.
Have to make a decision between Progressive 418 or 440.
Any comments out there?
Also, want to lower the front end with Progressive lowering springs. Any opinions?
Thanks all.
Hope the freekin' warmer weather gets here soon.

I can't speak for the 440's but I've got the 418's and love them. The adjustability is great and they look killer imo.

Standard height 440's here......

Great 2-Up...... just a little too stiff for my likeing Solo, just a little. ( Adjusted to the "softest" setting. )
On a good day I'm 180 lbs.

If you're lowering the Bike, it might be Better to have them a little stiff I dunno ?
Im sure someone that has lowed can tell ya better.

I have the Heavy Duty 440's
I ride a 2005 FXDCI and weigh 255 lbs.
Progressive recomends the HD ( for Heavy Duty NOT Harley Davidson ) for anyone over 225 lbs.
some web sites say 200 lbs....Thay are Very firm, especially for solo riding.
I would NOT get the heavy duty unles I was closer to 250 lbs.
I have them set on the softest position / least pre-load. The nce thing is, no tools are needed to adjust the pre-load setting.
I ride mostly Kentucky backroads, so I like a firm ride.
Be aware the total travel on the 440's is 2.28 inches, they only recomend 1/4 to 1/2 inch rider "sag."
Which is only about 25% of the total travel. Most cruisers like 30 to 40% of total for rider sag.
I have been working on this for all winter, so I have read alot on the subject.
The 418's have a little more travel and I think they are adjustable for rebound damping?
Also be aware of all the different finishes the shocks come in.
I have the standard length 12.5 inches for a 2005 FXDCI.
If you don't want firm ride consider another shock or the non-heavy duty version.
If you want to send me a PM I can discuss it further and the progressive front fork springs.
