Default 06 Street Bob performance

Picked up a 06 SB this week (better pics coming up soon). Its got Python pipes and a K&N filter and a Power Commander. I've been lookin around and see some people put the bigger cams in the 1450's.. How much of a difference would this give me vs my stock cams.. Any other other mods I can do to make this thing a little quicker? I'm used to my GSXR 750, love the comfort of the Bob but needs a little more pick up..

You'll notice it, if that's what you want to hear! Thing that sucks with the 06 and up is the final gearing ratio, it's like a 2.80 something and the 05 and older were around 3.15 So the 06's weren't as peppy. I put the 30t engine sprocket on my 06 and helped alot, but it wraps out pretty high on the freeway. I'm just waitin for a 32t. I also have a built motor though

i have an 06, V&H, custom map, plug wires, Stage 1 and tach... knowing where you are shifting is alot of it... i spank alot of newer bikes cause i know where i am and when to shift... a build will give you ALOT of power or just a simple cam... depends how crazy you want to get with it an how much money... i LOVE my 06... would not take any other year bob, mainly cause i love the 88ci motor... sky is the limit only weighed down by your check book...

Walshie, depending what cams you go with,
the difference can be very noticeable.

As to other mods, chad mentions gearing.
Here it's all about money money money.
About 2 grand you can do 95 inchs with cams and heads
Add 5-6 hundred (or so) for high performance pipes.
100hp/100tq easy with the right package

Or, I went for about 6-7 thou and wound up with 116 HP 150 TQ
A guided missile.

chad, Where did you pick up the 30T??

As to gearing,
You're comparing 06 6th gear to 05 5th - right???

The 06s are plenty peppy.

Whoever said it's all about what you want to spend got it right.A good 2 into one header like a Thunderheader will get you a little more horsepower and a bunch more torque than a set of duals or slip-ons but, it'll cost literally twice as much.Throw in a good dyno tune and you could be in the high 70s low 80s HP and maybe even up to 90 TQ about the same place you'll end up with a good drop in cam and dyno time. This is why you should have kept your gixxer.
