Could someone tell me how helpful a fork brace is for a Wide Glide? I don't have one on my bike and am just getting used to the bike. Would the bike handle a lot better with a brace? I like the way it handles now, but it seems, the more stability in curves, the better! Would you recommend the "Superbrace" or the "Harley" one? Surprising... the Harley one is cheaper!
I have one on mine, but I couldn't tell which it is[X(].
I do like how it handles, and I hear it really helps with "fork-flex" in the corners. I will say it was highly recomended to me, so if my bike had not already had one, I would have added it anyway. my.02
maybe y'all can tell what it is from a pic so here goes....
My opinion only !!! is Fork flex is generally associated with sports/powerfull bikes and holding the front end stable under heavy braking and giroscopic forces from the wheel .
I dont think we will push these boundaries .
Although that fork brace looks a nice piece of show .
I have an 05WG and added the SE brace and also had inside of forks rebuilt with heavier compression springs, etc. Bike is much stiffer and steering took getting used to but once you do, no more slop on turns, and very tight - glad I did it.
I like the brace. It feels a little more rigid in the turns and looks nice. With the brace you now have 3 point's where the fork's are held true. Mine is Kury's.
i have the kuryakyn and love it...my motor makes 115 hp and it does help above 100mph....i am gonna let it go due to the fact that i am going to make my own at work so i would be interested in selling mine for 75.00 plus shipping...no bad scratches or marrs and works very well...email me @ crusteel45@wowway.com if youre interested
