I have a 2006 Dyna Street Bob, want to change rear shocks. Told factory length is 12". Looking at changeing to Progressive 812 Series - 12.6". Does anybody have any input as to what effect the longer will have, good or bad?

Were did you find the 812's in that length? Every where I have looked so far only has them in 11 inch.
Go to Progressive's website, 812 series page, product selection, 2006, Harley Davidson, FXDB/F/L. These are new shocks, delivery may take a few weeks. They sent me to Drag Specialties for pricing, and Drag still does not know they are available. J&P cycles said they could order them.
The good affect - the longer suspension travel will let you dial in a smoother ride. Plus slightly more ground clearance if you like to push it in the corners.
The good/bad - some people like the looks of the high rear fender, some don't. But with everyone else slamming their bikes, your 'Bob will have no trouble standing out in a crowd.
