My bike did come with the peanut but I had to already opt for the larger capacity of the 4.5 gal. tank that comes on the customs.IMHO, having the guages on the bars just makes it look cheap.
imho the speedo and tac should be up in front of you looking down at the gas tank to check my speed contributed to the accident i had a while back

In traffic you should not be looking at the speedo, you should be watching the traffic and going with the flow.
a lowrider dash has 2 gauge opening, maybe make one for gas and the other for speedo... but i would not want to loose the tach... many of us dyna folk add the tach in there somewhere... i havent done this yet, but lowrider dash would be the way to go!
In Custom Chrome and V-Twin Mfg catalogs, there are 'fat bob' complete coversion kits for Sportster models that have console and hardware included ... could be whoever saw one done was seeing a conversion kit. The plus side of that option is that the kit is designed to bolt right on and use existing brackets and fittings.

Not a SeaBee, just an old Jarhead, and a former electrical contractor. Wish I could claim it as an original, but I heard it from somewhere too and always liked it.
