Here a 3 different apes. A while back someone wanted to know the difference. I forget who, but thought this might be useful to those considering apes or to whoever might be interested.
Here's a pic of all three, together.
Top left- Flanders 1.25, 12.5"
Top right- Wild 1 Chubs 1.25, 10"
Bottom- Stock apes off 07 Streetbob
IMHO, I like the Flanders the best. They're virtually the same size as the 10" Wild 1s, but a slightly different design. Take a close look. The rise is indeed higher, but the way the pullback is designed it brings where your hands would be right to the same spot as the Wild 1s. This allows you to throw the apes forward more. With the Wild1s, I had to adjust them further back, which kinda threw off the whole old school look of apes in a weird way.
Anyway, the Flanders are going on next weekend with some retro Harley grips. Will post pics when they're on.
I was going to go with a pair of Carlini Chinos, but man- 300.00! Plus, they might be a bit too radical for me and might not flow so smoothly with the Dyna, IMHO.
