I just looking for some thoughts. I think I know the scoop on performance. You'll get it with both. Don't know how they compare headsup though. Heard great things about both also. The THeaders look a little tougher. But if you take looks out of the question which one would you buy and why?
Well, from all the good things I heard about the THeaders, I decided to give them a try and I'm glad I did. They sound great, and perform even better. Not to crazy about how the D&D's look.. but thats just a matter of opinion.
I've also ran both on my build along with a couple others. Thunderheader aint coming off, and between the two your talkin about, I liked the thunderheader better because it produced a little more torque than the fat cat & hands down the TH has the best deep throaty sound that I still haven't heard from any other manufactured pipe!
I went with the FatCat, thought the unequal length pipes on the Thunderheader was odd and wouldn't let the cylinders breath equally. The FatCat is also one of the better quality 2 into 1's available when it comes to fit and finish.
I would love to feel the power of the 2n1 but i just cant see having one of those things on my bike! On a vrod i would have one. IMO it fits those bikes great!
From the pics, it looks like the TH would be easier to check the oil when hot without burrning your hand. I got Pythons and gotta use a glove because the dipstick is next to the pipe, like on the Fatcat.
Everybody likes the pipe they got, that's why they got it! Which ever pipe pops in your head the most, buy it! You'll always wonder about the 2nd & 3rd choice, just let it go & rip on your new pipe, what ever you get!
