Cant figure out why my tail light and brake light no longer work.... The blinkers and hazards work fine and all the fuses are in good shape any other suggestions?
Bulb? Short or open in wire? Loose connection? Sending unit not operating? I can't tell you what's wrong but I can tell you how to slove it: use a multimeter and test.
Hows your wiring into the tail light assembly? Have you checked the bulb itself? I have seen where bulbs will get a little moisture and start to corrode then lose electrical contact.

Hey Steve, check your front brake! This happens to me now and again, too, and it always is my front brake lever.
Are you getting an error message or light come on on the dash. I had this happen and the error light came on. The light just confirmed something was wrong but did not tell me what. Good ole fashion look-see saved the day. It wasnt electrical per se but the wires came loose on the *** end and they rubbed on the rear tire. Simple fix if so.
My light did that also and did a search on the forum. Checked wiring uner rear fender and looked good also checked front switch to see if it was clicking. I removed the connectors on the rear switch and plugged them back in and it started to work again. It has worked fine for a few weeks now. Let us know how you made out.
1 wiring under rear fender
2 wiring harness under seat
3 fuses
Clean & lube connections lightly with dielectric grease.
Start easy first - check the bulb. Then check your connections. Then check the wiring for obvious problems (like a broken wire), then check the switches.
