I run the same seat as "Budds" and I couldn't be happier. I took it on a trip to Atlanta two weekends ago and I was able to make it from my house to Augusta without feeling the need to stop like I did with my stock solo + passenger pillion. It was roughly 1hr a half on the bike cruising hard and I had to stop in order to get gas because 93 was super hard to find in GA at the time. If you're a tall person then you'll like the wide vintage (I stand 6'3")

Take a look at my sig pic That is the Mustang Vintage wide solo. I also use the wider pillion when going two up. Very comfortable seat. raises you about an inch and sits you back a bit.

Default Mustang Seat

Here's a pic of my FXD with the Wide Vintage with backrest. I have the bike set up for touring right now and the backrest makes all the difference for long rides. It was like getting a new bike! Like others have said the seat moves you up and back a little. The seat narrows at the front, so it's easy to just slide forward a bit at stops to get your feet down. Highly recommend this seat. P.S. sorry about the messy garage shot.

I have the wide vintage touring as well and love it, since we do a lot of 2 up it stays on most of the time. A very comfortable seat for both of us.

I've got close to 7k miles on my studded wide solo with the matching thin pad pillion (I rarely ride two up). The seat is probably the most comfortable out there. As Jarhead points out, if the majority of your riding is in town, local stuff the wide might not be the right choice. BUT, if you do any half day or longer rides you WILL appreciate the wider seat.

Just my $0.02

Looks may be important but comfort is what keeps you going mile after mile. Style/type of seat also depends on your height and keester size. I ride on the vintage wide with backrest and can ride all day. Did Sturgis and back with rides while out there equaling 3,000 miles in seven days--no problems.
