Looked into SE bars and risers for Fat Bob...too much $$
I love the looks of the stock drag bars and risers on the fat Bob, but have grown a bit weary of the lack of highway comfort so I thought maybe the bar and riser set up from the Screaming Eagle Fat Bob might be worth a look.
I sat on one at the dealer and really liked the bend and height, so I decided to check out availability and price...
It turns out (surprise, surprise)to be a bit expensive.
Total cost for parts only WITHOUT the tach is around $750.00!!
So I asked..... how much for just the bars? (figuring I could get different risers)
The salesman's reaction to me picking my jaw off the counter when he told me the bars alone were $290.00.........."well they ARE chromed"
Has anyone been to the Carlini handlebar site ? They are damn proud of the work. I have seen them in person and they are show quality but $330.00 plus shipping for bars is too rich for me...

hey rider -
I've been "ebaying" carlini bars for a year now in anticipation of my tank swap.
A clean set still goes for over $200. My ebay rule of thumb is that even if it's new - I pay no more than 1/2 MSRP. After this week I finally ruled out the Carlinis. I'm just not gonna pay that.
bberck - no doubt the SE bars are nice - but damn - $800???????? Are these the bombay bars?
I know there are gauges involved - etc. ... I look forward to the pics.
Glide- I know what you mean about searching for Carlini bars on ebay. I've seen one set that matched what I wanted. They were over 200 bucks and were scratched. Even had pics of the scratches. I gave up on then also. I think I'm going to buy Wild 1s, this winter.

yes - think it's going to be the wild 1s for me too - still trying to decide which set. first was convinced that the baby 8.5" apes were for me - but I'm not 100% sure - they aint cheap either. the wild 1s all seem to have a lot of pullback - which I'd prefer to limit. look forward to your pics - i'll let you know which direction i take - probably a few months away at this time.
