Default Fork oil change - When do I replace?

Hey guys,

I believe my service manual says every 20k miles, but I was at Harley in Miami and it said 50k miles? So I'm confused.. what have you guys done? And is this a difficult job for me to do myself or what?

Thanks guys!
Adrian

My dealer did it for me as part of the 10k service. Also had them use SE Heavy instead of oem fluid.

I changed mine at 5,000 miles and could not believe the shat that came out of there. That was some nasty stuff. I have drain plugs, so that made it simple. IMO, you should do it in the near future...

Default oil change.

As a person who takes forks apart alot, I would suggest changing every 10K miles. When your fork legs are off you may wish to look at a FL lower slider and cut your own drain plug or better still take it to a machine shop. SE fork oil is $3.50/side.
