maybe i missed it - but ifI did, I missed it in the other articels on these stabilizers also.
My question is - do these stabilizers replace the exisitng mounts, or bolt to them, reducing flex.
Both of my mounts are toast, and jsut wonder if i need to purchase new ones from the **** moco first or what.
anything
thanks!
Sean
Steve,
TrueTrack stabilizers are additional to the factory engine mounts and bolt onto the bike, at front and rear. They each include a swinging link similar to the one between your cylinder heads, so the engine can still vibrate up and down, but cannot move sideways. As standard, the rear wheel and swingarm are attached to the rear of the gearbox and can move out of alignment with the front wheel, as you ride. You will be amazed just what an improvement this kit gives you!
Check TrueTrack's website for mounts. My wife's Dyna is low mileage, so I only bought their basic kit and left the original engine mounts. For my evo I also bought new mounts, front and rear, from them, so everything I needed came in one box. Certainly you should fit new mounts if yours are past their best. That will probably make fitting the rear TrueTrack metalwork easier.
Search on here for TrueTrack as there has already been talk of a group discount. I have had our kits since before they started sponsoring HDF, so haven't paid attention!
