If you went this route you would only need to drill the hole in the fender for the wiring, note you would also need to update how your license plate was mounted.

The Model A bracket would otherwise fit the Sparto holes?

Here's another question for the '09 owners....the base of the fender at the rear of the vehicle...is there a notch in it, behind the license bracket? I thought I saw that on someone's bike after they'd sidemounted the plate...wanted to get clarification.

Yes, I don't know why the MOCO did this. Not to noticeable with the taillight on.
