It's ok as is but sort of looks a little "homemade". I think it would really look the business if you were able to paint it to match the finish of the bike.
I braced myself before I clicked. I thought I was ready. But I wasn't. Trunks. Trunks everywhere... I feel dizzy...
But then I'm biased. I hate trunks with a passion. I hate trunks even on baggers. I even hate having my backrest on so much that I'm actually embarrassed by it. I can't even leave it on parked in the garage. I never ever ride anywhere with it on if I don't have a passenger or t-bag.
hell no man that is cool! i want to make a trunk that will clip on to my rack for the rear fender... then i can get the kind of turnk that has a back rest and use that for ME!!! love this idea! i ride distance on my bike... it is cool to have all you need wiht you
Check out the Lazy rider bag with back rest. I just bought one today. Needed something for tools and rain gear etc. but don't want saddle bags. Will have photo tomorrow. It's almost like riding in a lounge chair.
Ya know, I've been thinking about this all day. I definitely like the idea of mounting it to detachable sideplates. When you need it, pop it on. When you're just cruisin, leave it home. It might look bad as hell on the back of my WG but fug'em....I may have to invest....just in case.
I used to have my old yamaha fully dressed and I put A LOT in the trunk which was just a tad smaller than the HD tourpak. Of course, thats when I was younger and would decide on a whim to ride down to Baltimore and hit fell's point or head up to Lake George, NY for the weekend. One time I ride to Ohio...for a cup of coffee. Seriously.
I've thought of doing this but settitng it up for solo use. Be nice since I would have plenty of room and not have to run bags. Be nice to have a back rest for the long trips.
