My new Rush slip on mufflers have developed a dull area just past here the muffler joins the exhaust pipe. About the size of a palm print. It is not bubbling the chrome but there is a light texture to it. Sort of like someone hit it with a shot of clear coat. Anyone else? I have only 12 miles on them

I believe that mark might be from your jeans burning to the pipe. I noticed one time when I got to close to the pipes with my leg my jeans somewhat burned onto that same area. This left a dull mark and I was able to buff it off with some neverdull wading polish. It happend when I was at a stop light or else filling up the tank.
Gary,
If it's only in one area it's probably what LwRdXtReMe2K suggested that you're getting something from boots/pants on the pipes. I've got 15k on my Rush pipes and they have held up very well. I have started to notice a slight discoloration in the area you mention but mine is on both pipes and evenly distributed around the pipe. I'm chalking it up to old age and may have to eventually replace them. We'll see.
Mine won't polish out. I've tried everything. Called FuelMoto were I got them from to let Jamie know what was going on. He stopped me in mid sentence and told me the pipe was "tarnished looking". Exactly I said. He has another pipe in hand that has the same thing happening to it. Coincidentally or maybe not, the pipe he has in hand is also off a SE just like mine. I have dealt with FuelMoto before and have total faith in them that they will get this resolved. Jamie is going to check with Rush for an explanation.
