250 Streetbob
+1 on the more pics man.. wanna see more angles of that thing!
Cheers for all the comments.
I will try and answer a few questions for you all.
I first purchased a second hand Dyna wheel from e-bay , had it relaced and powder coated to a 9.5 inch rim.
The tyre fitted is an Avon Venom 250 , it rides really well with only a subtle change in how it felt with the standard 160 no Roll at all , i wanted to go bigger but was advised not to as i would sacrifice handling for looks.
Both the swinging arm and rear fender had to be fabricated as no kit or fender was available off the shelf , i didnt want any fender struts visible so the rear fender was hand made.
The swinging arm is my Original , a jig was made it was then cut and then re-boxed 90mm either side with the exact same dimensions that HD use , it was then welded then powder coated and is a work of art upon examination.
I cannot hold my hands up and say i did any of this work , it was only my vision of how i wanted the bike to look.
There is no off set to this , it rides true and both wheels are aligned and centred perfectly ( how it should be done).
The Bike Builders behind all the work done to my bike are two Gents Called Ian Cushin and Scotty at SCC and Kalamity Chops in Bromsgrove , England.
His own Bike won "Best Harley" at this years Bulldog Bash , and both guys had bikes featured in last months V-Twin magazine so they are from good stock and know what they are doing.
There was loads more work involved than meets the eye with many parts having to be made as one off,s.
The 6 speed 07 streetbob is a relatively new model and unless you want bolt on accesories you are very limited as there are not many after market parts yet to do this kind of mod , i think this is the only streetbob in the UK with the 250 rear end conversion.
It was a very turbulent and frustrating journey from start to finish with many original parts having to be replaced.
One example was the "Belt and Spocket" after only 14k miles - quite a common fault on newer bikes after 06 , the word is HD use a lower grade softer alloy on newer sprockets so they dont last as long. ( Check yours ) another was swing arm bushes that were seazed as no lube had been used when the bike was manufactured.
The two guys overcame many many problems with a Good end result.
All i need to do now is sort the front end out and she,s finished.
More pics as requested - sorry not the best quality.
The bad news was the Bill and the end of the job and i will keep that a secret
